Recently the music industry has started shifting inspiration from the eighties to the nineties. Personally I prefer the sounds that emerged from the nineties, so I'm quite pleased with the change!
Silverstein has been a successful band since 2000, when nineties rock was still fully in its heyday. Now 23 years later they are perfectly positioned, with a strong new single, to ride the next wave of Alt Rock.
The new song 'Poison Pill' is a dream combination, embellishing the best parts of nineties rock with a more current twist (think Royal Blood).
Massive distorted guitar riffs, hard hitting drums and a brilliant vocal performance come together to create a song that can only be described as a guaranteed crowd pleaser. 'Poison Pill' would have been a hit had it been released in the year 2000, but it has just as much a place now.
Silverstein have managed to keep their energy and to remain relevant both lyrically and musically. The new song is nothing short of excellent and proves that the band is still very much in form.
