Islands is no stranger to the international music scene, having previously released seven successful albums. As 2016 came to a close Nick Thorburn decided to quietly retire the act, resulting in the mysterious and sudden disappearance of Islands. Wind forward to 2021 and they are back on the scene with a new album to show.
The band recently released the fantastic new track titled 'Carpenter' in the build up to their highly anticipated album.
Carpenter is a song that makes you want to get into an open top vintage classic car and take a spontaneous road trip along the coast, or through meandering mountains. With it's catchy vocal melodies, shimmering synths and awesome outro you're sure to be hooked.
Attention to detail is evident in the record, with engaging production, creative sounds and subtle hidden details that you might miss on the first listen. Once again, Islands have created a track that's easy to love and doesn't loose it's charm on successive spins.
