Billy Libby (the man behind Fort Gorgeous) produces his own music.
The new EP (Retirement Part One) also features Kirk Schoenherr (Chet Faker) on vocal and guitar.
Billy also tours as a guitarist for Ingrid Michaelson.
Favourite place on planet earth: Most likely Brooklyn where Fort Gorgeous is based.
'Goldmine' the new single from Fort Gorgeous gets straight to the point. The song begins with a stirring and emotive a cappella vocal duet, before opening up with an ever expanding range of ambient and pulsing synths.
The song has a dark almost sarcastic feeling to it in places, which is reinforced by the fantastic and thought-provoking lyrics.
Billy really exhibits his songwriting and production strengths, keeping the listener fully engaged the whole journey as the song builds to the brilliant lead guitar part towards the end.
Being a Radiohead fan, I really enjoy the similar vibe that I feel that Goldmine brings in places, especially the awesome chorus. The whole EP is well worth a listen, showcasing Billy's clearly evident talent.
